Privacy Policy
VuFindr turns the CCTV you already run into operations, security, and compliance intelligence. Because our platform processes live video, we're deliberate about what we collect, how long we keep it, and — just as importantly — what we don't retain. This page explains our practices in full.
Introduction
VuFindr Inc. ("VuFindr", "we", "us", or "our") builds an operations intelligence platform that connects to a customer's existing CCTV cameras and converts live video into real-time analytics — queue and dwell times, staffing coverage, compliance signals, and loss-prevention alerts — for restaurants, retail, hospitality, and manufacturing sites. We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade personal information to any third party.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit vufindr.com, request a demo, or when our platform is deployed at a client site. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
We may update this policy periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision — we encourage you to check back from time to time.
Information We Collect
(i) Personal Information
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity data: Your name, job title, and organization
- Contact data: Email address, phone number, and business address
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, and operating system
- Communication data: Messages sent through our contact form, demo requests, or emails
- Usage data: How you interact with our website and marketing content, including pages viewed and links clicked
We collect this information when you:
- Visit or navigate our website
- Submit a "Talk to Us" or pilot-inquiry form
- Communicate with us as a prospective or existing client
- Attend a live demo, expo, or industry event where VuFindr is present
(ii) Non-Personal Data
We also collect aggregated, non-identifying website analytics — browser type, device category, referring URL, and session duration — to understand and improve website performance.
Video & Camera-Derived Data
VuFindr's platform is privacy-first by design. We analyze the video feeds our clients already run — we do not deploy new cameras or covertly capture footage — and our default posture is to extract operational signal, not to identify or retain individuals.
- Aggregate, not identity-based: Outputs like footfall counts, dwell time, queue length, and PPE-compliance flags are generated from video but are designed not to persist biometric identifiers or facial-recognition templates by default.
- No PII retained:In our standard deployment, raw video frames used for real-time analysis are processed transiently and are not stored long-term as part of the analytics output. Any client-elected extended video retention is governed by that client's own policies and local law.
- Client as data controller:The business operating the cameras (our client) is the data controller for footage captured on their premises; VuFindr acts as a service provider processing that footage under contract to generate the analytics they've requested.
- Employee and visitor notice: Our clients are responsible for posting appropriate signage and complying with local surveillance, biometric, and workplace-monitoring laws at their sites. We provide configuration options to support that compliance.
- No cross-client data sharing: Video and analytics from one client site are never shared with, or used to benchmark against, another client without explicit agreement.

Disclosing Your Information
VuFindr does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information or client video data. We may share it only in these limited circumstances:
- Sub-processors and service providers: Vendors who help us deliver our services (e.g., cloud hosting, CRM, email delivery), contractually bound to protect data and use it only for the specified purpose.

- Encrypted data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest across the platform
- Role-based access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only
- Secure, access-logged cloud hosting infrastructure

We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external website before providing personal information. This policy applies solely to information collected by VuFindr.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes it was collected for, including legal, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
- Enquiry and prospect data is retained for up to 3 years after your last interaction, unless you become an active client
- Client analytics data (aggregate metrics, dashboards, reports) is retained for the duration of the engagement per the applicable client agreement
- Raw video used for real-time analysis is processed transiently and not retained long-term in our standard deployment, unless a client has specifically elected extended retention for audit or compliance purposes
- Marketing preferences are retained until you opt out or withdraw consent
- Website analytics data is aggregated and anonymized after 26 months
When data is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it in a secure manner consistent with our retention schedules and any applicable client agreement.
